Jason D. McKibben is a social and behavioral science researcher studying agricultural safety, sustainability, and the human dimensions of agricultural work. His scholarship examines the socio-technical “handshake” in agriculture, focusing on how people interact with tools, technologies, and systems in complex work environments. His research agenda is organized around three interconnected areas: cognitive friction and human risk, relational safety culture, and agricultural work systems resilience. This work remains grounded in the people who live and work in agriculture and seeks to strengthen safety, learning, and long-term system viability.
